As you can gather by now, I love writing poetry. Having suffered, battled, existed with depression and other mental health issues for a majority off my life it is my form of sanity. I have been fortunate enough to be able to reach people I never would have through social media which is amazing. My poetry covers a range of topics which I hope you all will enjoy. Xxx

This has to be one of my proudest moments this year…winning the Health Champion award at the South Antrim Community Network A.G.M. Though there is no way I could have got this far if it weren’t for the fantastic team I have behind me.

I’m not sure how you got here but thank you so much. For those who don’t know what “mhmyou matter” stands for I will explain…The name is a shortened version of our original name “Mental Health Matters – You matter!” which is our group set-up in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The ethos behind the group to provide help and support to those living in the area with a mental illness or caring for someone who has. We also want to reduce the stigma around the topic by educating and promoting the importance of positive, mental, emotional and physical health and well-being. The whole mouthful of Mental Health Matters – you matter! sounded to long winded and with the shortened version people who want to know more will ask us to explain more about the group which is when we can give them an explanation in more depth.
So what to expect from the site…. well we will have our events page, training page, the blog page where you will finds lots of tips and information and of-course a dash of fun thrown in to make us all smile
